Training and Advice 2002

asde promotes goal identification workshops that in a informal, dynamic, and participative way help plan different complex aspects of the institutional work not only in institutions of developed countries but also institutions in developing countries.

As part of our regular procedures, asde carries out project identification workshops in situ. These workshops are participative and occur together will all of the organizations involved in the project. In this way we guarantee that the project preparation will incorporate exhaustive information about the local reality.

Technical and financial assistance

asde is an institution that specializes in development projects and has expertise in budget lines for NGOs which include B76000 and Bilateral Cooperation B76200 of the European Commission. asde also offers techno-financial assistance to international institutions, especially regarding projects of housing and infrastructure.

During the 5 and 6 of April, 2002, in Zaragoza, Spain, the sixth course of an international cooperation conference for institutional development was organized by FED, Foundation of Ecology and Development.

From the 28 to the 30th of May, 2002 the fifth workshop for the preparation of a multinational project, RED-DES was held.

From the 15th to the 25th of August in Santa Ana, Costa Rica an identification workshop was held for a participatory building project for sustainable housing called "Manos a la Obra."

From the 26th of August to the 1st of September, 2002 in Santa Ana, Costa Rica, an identification workshop was held for a participatory building project called "Construyendo el Futuro."

From the 18th to the 21st of October 2002, in San Jose, Costa Rica, an identification workshop was held for a low-cost housing project called "Construyendo Comunidades."

From the 6th to the 18th of January, 2002 in Banbury, England, personnel from ASDE held a financial assessment meeting about the finance lines of the European Union for Habitat for Humanity- Europe.

From the 8th to the 14th of February, 2002, in Stuttgart, Germany an assessment meeting was held on developing financial reports and projects for the B76000 budget line of the European Union for KATE, Stuttgart, Germany.

From the 15th to the 25th of April, 2002, in Manila, Philippines, the first monitoring visit for the low-cost housing project "Habitat Community Partnership Program," was held. This is a project financed bu the European Union and coordinated by the German organization KATE and implemented by the organization HFHP- Habitat for Humanity- Philippines.

From the 18th to the 24th of May, 2002 in Quito, Ecuador, the first monitoring visit for the binational project (Peru/Ecuador) called, "Paso a Paso," was held. This project is financed by the European Commission, coordinated by the German organization KATE and implemented by the Southern organizations DESCO of Peru and CIUDAD of Ecuador.

From the 1st to the 4th of July, 2002 in Stuttgart, Germany we participated in the daily work with personnel from KATE to prepare a project that coincided with the financing lines of the EC, ALIS.

From the 5th to the 15th of November, 2002, in Quito, Ecuador the second visit for techno-financial assistance for the binational project (Peru/Ecuador) "Paso a Paso" occured. "Paso a Paso" is financed by the European Commission, coordinated by the German organization KATE, and implemented by DESCO in Peru and CIUDAD in Ecuador.

From the 19th to the 30th of November 2002 in Manila, Philippines, the second visit for techno-financial assistance was recieve for the low-cost housing project, "Habitat Community Partnership Program." This project is financed by the European Commission, coordinated by the German organization KATE, and implemented by the organization HFHP- Habitat for Humanity Philippines.

From the 5th to the 9th of December 2002, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, we participated as the central speaker in the first regional southamerican conference, "Sustainability and Innovation," for the organization Habitat for Humanity South America.
