Training and Advice 2003

asde promotes goal identification workshops that in a informal, dynamic, and participative way help plan different complex aspects of the institutional work not only in institutions of developed countries but also institutions in developing countries.

These workshops are carried out in situ and use a participatory methodology. They are conducted jointly with all the organizations involved in the project, thus ensuring that the formulation of the project includes exhaustive information on local reality.

Technical and financial assistance

asde is an institution specialized in development projects with largely experienced professionals in the NGO cofinancing budget line of the European Commission (B76000 and Bilateral Cooperation B76200). asde also offers technical and financial assistance to international institutions, particularly regarding housing and infrastructure projects.

24-25 July 2003 a workshop on "Logical Framework for the EU" was held in Stuttgart. This event was directed by KATE and coordinated by Stefan Lang from PARTICIP.

A European tour including Barcelona, Valencia, Paris, Brussels and The Hague was organized from 25 February to 1st of March. This tour had the aim of promoting the latinamerican regional project called RED-DES.

In the month of March we held a workshop to redesign the project "Agrovivienda", which is based in the construction of houses and wells in order to improve the living and farming conditions of the communities of Masaya, Nicaragua.

From 21-29 June we held a workshop to design the participative construction of sustainable houses project "Casas Mudando Vidas" to be cofinanced by the EU budget line B7-6000.

From 3-10 August we held a project design workshop for the formulation of the project "Salud y Paz" to be submitted to the B7-6000 EU budget line. This work was commissioned by KATE and Brot fur die Welt from Germany.

From 10-17 August we held a project design workshop for the formulation of the project "Salud y Comunidad" to be submitted to the B7-6000 EU budget line. This work was commissioned by KATE and Brot fur die Welt from Germany.

AMC, Nicaragua

From 21-27 September we held a project design workshop for the formulation of the project "Community Housing Initiative" to be submitted to the B7-6000 EU budget line.

Habitat for Humanity Philippines

From 27-30 October we held a project design workshop for the formulation of the integrated productive farming project "Pata Pata Chotano". This proposal is to be submitted to the B7-6000 EU budget line.

Cives Mundi, Spain

From 02-10 November we held a project design workshop for the formulation of the housing project "Houses for All" to be submitted to the B7-6000 EU budget line.

Habitat for Humanity Indonesia

From 14-23 January we carried out a technical and financial assistance visit to the binational project "Paso a paso", which is cofinanced by the European Commission and coordinated by the German organization KATE.

From 19-24 February a meeting was held regarding EU projects and potential of joint work with Habitat for Humanity International.

From 12-23 March we carried out the second monitoring visit to the low cost housing project "Habitat Community Partnership Program". This project is cofinanced by the EU and is coordinated by KATE and implemented by HFHP Habitat for Humanity Philippines.

From 16-17 April we carried out the second monitoring visit to the binational project Perú-Ecuador "Paso a paso", which if cofinanced by the European Commission. The project is coordinated by KATE and implemented by DESCO from Perú, and CIUDAD from Ecuador.

From April 27 to July 20 we carried out a three-month working period at Centro de Investigaciones CIUDAD and during which an interinstitutional partnership agreement ASDE-CIUDAD was signed.

From 26-30 May we carried out the second monitoring visit to the binational project Perú-Ecuador "Paso a paso", which is cofinaned by the European Commission. The project if coordinated by KATE and implemented by DESCO from Perú, and CIUDAD from Ecuador.

From 5-16 July we carried out the first exchange workshop Asia-Latin America between two EU cofinanced projects: "Paso a Paso" (Peru-Ecuador) and "Habitat Community Partnership Program" (Philippines).

From July 31 to August 3 we participated as core speaker at the conference on "Retos para un cambio de escala". A leaders conference organized by Hábitat for Humanity South America.

From 18-31 August we carried out a technical assistance visit to the project "Paso a Paso", which is cofinanced by the European Commission, coordinated by KATE and implemented by DESCO from Perú and CIUDAD from Ecuador.

From 8-16 September we held the second exchange workshop Asia-Latin America between the projects: "Paso a Paso" (Peru-Ecuador) and "Habitat Community Partnership Program" (Philippines).

From 10-12 October we held a training workshop on European projects. This meeting also included discussions on potential joint work between Cives Mundi and ASDE.

From 17-18 October we held a meeting-workshop on the formulation of potential Asian, African and Latin American projects for Habitat for Humanity International.
